Description
Fertility Hormone Panel
Concerned with female fertility?
The Fertility Hormone Panel for the female is a comprehensive blood test to evaluate possible fertility issues. Included in this panel is Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) and Luteinizing Hormone (LH) which are simple assessments for fertility. Also included is the Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH), which is an estimate of remaining egg supply. Conventionally, most fertility clinics do fertility testing on day 2 of a woman’s cycle. Testing on day 2 will not give an accurate indication of a woman’s estrogen and progesterone levels. Because this panel includes estradiol and progesterone, we actually prefer that a woman have this test done on day 21 of her cycle. By having the blood test on day 21, it allows us to make sure that ovulation has occurred and that progesterone is adequate for implantation and gestation. This blood panel will also include a Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) to rule out thyroid disease causing decreased fertility.
You do not need to be fasting for this blood draw.
This panel includes the following tests:
- Follicle Stimulating Hormone FSH
- Luteinizing Hormone LH
- Estradiol
- Estrogens Total
- Progesterone
- Pregnenolone
- Testosterone Total
- Testosterone Free
- DHEA-Sulfate
- Anti-mullerian Hormone AMH
- Thyroid Stimulating Hormone TSH
